Days feel full. Long and full and suddenly gone. It's cliché to say, but I honestly cannot believe it is the middle of September. For one, Wheaton weather decided to be gloriously warm (75-85 F, mild humidity, perfect breeze, with a chance of rain). Maybe more importantly, I feel warmly welcomed, comfortable in this community.
One morning, a family friend messages me. Hello! We are here, if you had time to see us! Unfortunately, my class period filled the whole potential visit time! :( When I returned to my dorm room hours later, ready to unload the backpack and worries of the day, I saw a cute black and white gift bag right on my doorstep. Of course, I couldn't help but take a peek. For me? Oooh!
That day, I was blessed with sweet, sweet kindness: a loaf of freshly homemade pumpkin bread and a note of encouragement. Another one of those cliché' phrases felt real - it's the little things. The treat was a surprise. The surprise was a treat. I am blessed.
...Do small things with great love.
